Water Stewardship Masterclass Malawi - Register now!
Water Witness International is co-hosting the Water Stewardship Masterclass - Malawi to be held between 11-14 March 2019 at Serendib Suites and Conference Centre in Blantyre, Malawi.
This landmark event will introduce participants to the Alliance for Water Stewardship Standard (AWS Standard), and equip them with the training they need to successfully implement the Standard in their organisation. The AWS Standard is the ISEAL compliant, globally consistent framework for implementing water stewardship, helping water users to understand water risks facing sites, supply chains, local communities and basins of operation, and how to effectively mitigate these risks. The Standard is designed to guide, recognise and reward business efforts to help manage shared threats to water security.
The event is aimed at senior managers, policy and decision-makers, and practitioners interested in innovative approaches to managing water risks and creating business and development opportunities.
The Masterclass is hosted in collaboration with the Alliance for Water Stewardship, with support from the Scottish Government. The event is delivered by leading experts on water stewardship and will equip participants with:
The skills and knowledge to build operational, financial and reputational resilience on water in their own operations through application of the AWS Standard;
The experience required to become an accredited consultant, trainer or conformity assessment body on the AWS Standard;
A thorough understanding of the available tools to support application of water stewardship practices;
An understanding of how the benefits of water stewardship can be harnessed by business, government and civil society groups alike, and the capability to champion water stewardship in their own work.
More details and joining instructions can be found here. Please register early to avoid disappointment as places are limited, and by 15th February 2019 at the latest. To cover the costs of delivery for the training £200 (195,000 MWK) will be charged. Please note that fully subsidised places are available for a limited number of government and civil society participants.
